Growing a community of support in Alberta.

Meet Kristina

Hi, I’m Kristina.

A mom, a Christian, and the person behind LifeBridge.

Kristina, founder of LifeBridge, smiling and seated on a cream sofa in a lilac sweater

I live in Medicine Hat, Alberta, with my family. I’m a mom to three and stepmom to two, and children have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’m the oldest of eight, and I’ve spent years caring for children through my own dayhome, volunteering in children’s ministry, and time serving at an orphanage in Haiti.

Those experiences have given me many reasons to care deeply about children. Being a mother has also helped me understand how much parents need encouragement, practical help, and people they can trust.

Why this matters to me

There have been seasons in my life when I needed help finding my feet again. When my children and I returned to Canada after living in Haiti, my family helped us get home and establish a place to live. Later that year, women from a church helped make Christmas special for us with a tree, decorations, gifts, and other things we needed.

I still remember what that felt like. People saw a need and did something about it. Their kindness made a difficult season easier, and it reminded me that we mattered.

That has stayed with me. I know how much it can mean when someone helps carry what feels overwhelming.

The heart behind LifeBridge

My Christian faith is at the centre of why I want to begin this work. I believe every person is made in the image of God. Every baby’s life matters, and the woman carrying that baby matters just as much.

When I think about a woman facing a difficult pregnancy, I think about the circumstances around her. Does she have someone she can talk to honestly? Is she worried about money, housing, or raising a child on her own? Does she know what support is available?

I also think about fathers who want to be there for their children but need guidance and encouragement, and parents who are trying to find their way through difficult circumstances. Whether someone is a single mother, a single father, or a couple facing challenges together, having someone to turn to can make a real difference.

I want LifeBridge to help women, fathers, and families take that first step toward support, with someone willing to listen and follow through.

My hope is to build relationships with pregnancy centres, churches, and community organizations so we can help women and parents find practical resources close to home. For someone considering adoption, that could mean connecting them with qualified people who can answer their questions with care.

Beginning here in Alberta

LifeBridge is still taking shape. I’m working on the foundation, building connections, and learning how this vision can serve families well.

I bring my experience as a mother, my love for children, and a willingness to do the work of building something useful. I also know this will take people with different skills and experiences coming together.

My hope is that, through LifeBridge, more women and parents will have someone to turn to when they don’t know where to begin.

Supporting parents. Welcoming life.
